ARCI Technical Assistant Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
1. Scientist “G” - Master’s degree in Physical Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/ Technology or equivalent from a recognized University. Desirable: a) Doctorate degree or equivalent in related subject from a recognized University. b) Experience of evolving, managing and directing major scientific or technology development programmes. c) Published research work of high standard and/or good record of patents granted/filed. Experience: 15 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial/Academic Institutions and/or Science & Technology Organizations out of which 5 years should be in administering, planning, development and coordination of R&D and related areas. He/She shall have expertise in Metallurgical/Mechanical Engineering fields. |
2. Scientist “B” (R&D) - : M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Materials Science OR B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgical/Materials/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University. Job Requirement: The candidates are required to work in any of the ongoing R&D projects in the broad areas of Ceramics, nanomaterials, energy materials etc,. OR in the field of Materials Characterization & Testing OR Electrical maintenance |
3. Technical Officer “A” - Essential : M.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Materials Science OR B.E./B.Tech. in Metallurgical/Materials/Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University. Desirable : Job Requirement: The candidates are required to work in any of the ongoing R&D projects in the broad areas of Sol-gel Coatings, Ceramics, nanomaterials, energy materials etc,. OR in the field of Materials Characterization & Testing or Electrical maintenance. |
4. Technical Assistant “A” - B.Sc. in Physical Sciences (Physics/Chemistry as one of the subjects) OR three (3) years full time Diploma in Mechanical/Metallurgical/Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/recognized Board of Technical Education of Central or State Government. (Continuation of Technical Assistant “A” (post code 4)….) Desirable: a) Prior technical experience in industry/R&D laboratories. b) Good interpersonal & communication skills and ability to multi-task will be an added advantage. |
5. Technician “A” - (i) Matriculation/10th pass; (ii) 2 years full-time ITI in Electrical/Fitter trade from a recognized Board of Technical Education of Central or State Government; and (iii) 3 years technical experience in Industry/R&D laboratories. Desirable: Good interpersonal & communication skills and ability to multi-task will be an added advantage |
6. Driver “A” - (i) Matriculation/10th pass/SSC. (ii) Possession of valid driving license to drive light and heavy vehicles. (iii) Knowledge of motor mechanism and the candidate should be able to rectify/remove minor defects in vehicles. AND (iv) Experience of driving a light vehicle for atleast 3 years and heavy vehicle for atleast 6 years. Desirable: (i) Good interpersonal & communication skills (in Hindi/English/Telugu) and ability to multi-task Motor Transport and any allied activities. (ii) shall be able maintain vehicle and fuel log books and cleanliness of the vehicles. |

The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. ARCI Technical Assistant Selection Process 2022:
(i) Preliminary Screening/Short-listing: A Committee as constituted by the Competent Authority, ARCI will screen the applications, taking into account the academic performance, relevance of the experience for the post applied and number of years of relevant experience (based on the data provided in on-line applications by the candidates) and such other parameters as deemed necessary for screening/shortlisting. The Screened-in/short-listed candidates will be called for Personal Interview/ undergo Competitive Written Examination (CWE) as follows:
(ii) Mode of Selection for
(a) Selection for the posts of Scientist “G”: Shortlisted candidates shall make a crisp presentation for 30-45 minutes. The first half of the presentation shall highlight achievements of the research work carried out by the candidate in the last few years, while the second part should describe the research proposal and how his/her expertise is suited for implementing the proposal. A separate questionnaire form for research proposal submission will be mailed to shortlisted candidates.
(b) Selection for the posts of Scientist “B” & Technical Officer “A: Through Personal Interview
(c) Selection for the posts of Technical Assistant "A" and Technician "A" and Driver “A”: will be through Competitive Written Examination (CWE) followed by Trade test/ Skill test and Driving Test (Driving test for Driver post) for the Screened-in/ Shortlisted candidates. Candidates can write written examination either in HINDI or ENGLISH.
